Voita! – To fathom the torn Finnish soul…
On their album “Vama Surma” (the certain death), Voita! embark on a journey all through
the Finnish Tango history, bringing traditional songs of Finland back to our times. Swaying from
melancholic to festive – yearning, sorrow, lust for life – and floating above it all is the ephemeral voice of
Varia Sjöström. Her Finnish roots and strong connection to her country can be found in all her
songs, sung in Finnish, German or English.
