For the 101st birthday of Finnish Tango, Hamburg-Altona became home of Finnish Tango and culture for a second time. Locations were Alfred-Schnittke-Akademie, Altonaer Museum and Platz der Republik in-between these institutions. It contained the FINtango village, where, in good Nordic tradition, an open-air dancefloor, a sauna and food and drink sellers were installed.
Concerts and an exhibition about the history of finnish tango could be found in the Akademie, while dance classes and movies had space in the museum. Prelude of the festival was at Werkhof in Lübeck.
5000 visitors were counted at this second edition of Germany ́s first and only festival for Finnishtango, under the patronage of film director Aki Kaurismäki.
